Today I’m just announcing three new collections of emails, all of which can be found (for now) exclusively in our Archive.org collections. First we have emails to and from CD13 about homeless encampments on Vermont Avenue, Melrose, Beverly, Alvarado, and some adjacent streets. The Council District was involved with breaking up these encampments in March 2016 and these emails document the process. They also contain a lot of fodder for future requests, since some of them list specific document numbers for Bureau of Street Services and also Sanitation Department orders and reports. It’s almost as if no one at CD13 was aware that breaking up homeless encampments puts federal money in jeopardy.

Next we have emails to and from CD4 about the Greater West Hollywood Food Coalition from July 1, 20151 through May 2016. There’s a lot more of the usual ranting and raving along with some truly bizarre redaction, mostly by Ryu Chief of Staff Sarah Dusseault, which I’ll pursue at some point if I have time. Mostly it doesn’t affect the information I’m interested in, so it’s a low priority.

Finally, I’ve recently received hundreds of emails from the South Park BID from January 2015 through May 2016 on street vending. See the Archive.org page linked to there for the actual search terms. There’s a lot of material here, and I’ve barely had time to look through them. It appears that there’s new information on the whole street vending thing of 2015 and the rampant illegal lobbying that was associated with it. The emails don’t have attachments, so follow-up will be necessary at some point.

All images are public records.
